This is a heat removal device that works by bringing together air and water to reduce the temperature of water that circulates through the tower. Water gets the cooling effect from the release of cooler air that mixes with warm water. This releases latent heat of vaporization. The cooled water is again transferred back to condenser or process equipment where it absorbs heat. The heated water is pumped to the cooling tower. This cycle continues.
